Abstract

[Also in Division F4] Refrigerating apparatus comprises a vertical shaft 1 housing an endless conveyer which has an upward run 7 and a downward run 8, fans for circulating air within the shaft, and air cooling means 9 disposed between the runs of the conveyer. The conveyer comprises two endless chains each link of which has a projecting arm 10, trays 11 being pivotally mounted between pairs of arms (Fig. 4). Levers 21 on the ends of the trays are arranged to move in stationary guides 23. The trays are loaded and unloaded at the bottom of the shaft and the goods to be cooled, e.g. dressed chickens, are supplied to and discharged from the bottom of the shaft via cylindrical passages.
