Abstract

1,200,052. Luffing booms for workmen. SIMON ENG. DUDLEY Ltd. 8 Nov., 1967 [16 Nov., 1966; 13 July, 1967], No. 51268/66. Heading B8H. The outer end portion of an articulated boom structure 12, 14 supporting a workman's cage 16 comprises a lattice structure 24 formed of material of high electrical insulation. A linkage 18 for keeping the cage level during movement of the booms 12, 14 and a linkage 22 for controlling this movement are constructed of resinbound glass fibre material of high electrical insulation. Details of construction of the lattice structure 24 are described with reference to Figs. 2-4 (not shown).
