Abstract

1,199,499. Electron beam deflecting apparatus. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. 8 Jan., 1968 [30 March, 1967], No. 1024/68. Heading H1D. A deflection yoke for a cathode ray tube comprises a core 10 and spaced coils 11 comprising strips of conductive foil encircling the core in a plurality of turns with insulation provided between each of the turns. The strips may consist of aluminium or metallized paper foil and anodized on one or both surfaces to provide insulation. Alternatively, the insulation may be provided by intervening strips of e.g. paper. The core may be circular as shown and broken along lines 12 and 13 or rectangular and comprising a plurality of sections. In a hybrid arrangement the vertical deflection windings i.e. 11i, 11j 11a and 11#, 11e, 11d are replaced by wire windings.
