Abstract

1,199,050. Floor covering material. CHEMIEGESELLSCHAFT GUNDERNHAUSEN M.B.H. 16 Nov., 1967 [17 Nov., 1966], No. 52216/67. Heading B2E. The non-slip backing of a floor covering material comprises a polyolefin, a filler, a plasticizer and a colour pigment, and is permanently plastic in the range of temperatures encountered during use of the floor covering material. The surface of the backing may be profiled. The backing may be applied in the molten state by extruding, brushing or calendering. The polyolefin may be polyisobutylene, polybutylene, polypropylene or polyethylene. The top layer on the surface opposite to the non-slip backing may be a web of synthetic fibres e.g. a polyamide and/or polypropylene needle felt or needle pile. Examples of fillers and plasticizers are given. Organic and inorganic colour pigments may be used.
