Abstract

494,301. Mats &c. HACKLANDER, K. H., and HACKLANDER (MOHAIR FABRICS), Ltd. April 20, 1937, No. 11324. [Class 142 (iv)] Non-slipping mats,.rugs, or carpets 1 have attached thereto a felt underlay 2 having a backing or reinforcement of crepe or kraft paper or like flexible material 3, which may be fortified with threads or fabric. The hair &c. of the felt is needled &c. through the paper &c. to produce projecting tufts &c. 4 which appear as prominences on the underside of the paper &c. which is treated with a rubberizing solution of latex. The prominences prevent the carpet &c. from creeping when placed upon another carpet having a buoyant pile.
