656,845. Warp pile fabrics. MACKAY & CO.. Ltd., H., MACKAY, L. H., and MACKAY, J. Nov. 3, 1947, No. 29315. [Class 142 (iv)] A cut pile carpet patterned by omitting pile has denser than normal pile alongside pile-bare areas. In Fig. 4, loops of yarns e1, e2 used alternately constitute the normal pile but at the margins of channels f both yarns are used together, so that there are four tufts in the insterstices p, q instead of two, whereby the tufts assume a V formation and hide the foundation fabric. One of the yarns may form all the normal pile, the other being used only in the dense parts. Carpets may be woven faceto-face as in Fig. 7.
