Abstract
1,198,152. Indicating levels of powdered material. CHEMISCHE WERKE HULS A.G. Nov.29, 1967 [Nov.30, 1966], No.54283/67. Heading G1H. Apparatus for indicating the level of a filling of bulk material in a container comprises at least one tube 5, 8 adapted to dip into the container to a level on each level to be indicated, means for supplying gas under pressure to each tube and means 6, 10 for indicating whether there is a flow of gas in each tube. When the end of the tube is below the level of the material the end of the tube is closed by the material and flow of gas is stopped whcih is indicated by means such as a vane? In one of the embodiments described two tubes are provided, the end of one being at a maximum level and the other at a maximum level or a larger number of tubes may be provided. The stoppage in flow in the tubes may be indicated by the closing of an electrical contact by the movement of the vane.
