Abstract
1,198,124. Manifolds. L. & C. STEINMULLER G.m.b.H. 2 7 April, 1967 [27 April, 1966], No. 19488/67. Heading F4A. [Also in Division B1] In apparatus for uniformly distributing a gas liquid mixture, such as a mixture of steam and water, between a plurality of outgoing pipes 5, 7 and for maintaining the same proportions of the liquid component and the gas component of the mixture in all the outgoing pipes, the outgoing pipes intersect a horizontal plane through the centre of a manifold 1 receiving the mixture from an incoming pipe or pipes 2 and have their entry ends 4, 6 in the upper or lower half of the manifold. The entry ends of the pipes in the or each associated half of the manifold lie in a common horizontal plane and each outgoing pipe is provided with one or more holes 16 adjacent the internal wall of the manifold for the efflux therethrough of one component of the mixture, the other component entering the pipe through the entry and thereof.
