1,040,865. Welding by pressure; making pipe fittings. H. GEBERT and K. GEBERT, [trading as GEBERT & CIE]. July 13, 1965 [Aug. 14, 1964], No. 29692/65. Headings B3A and B3R. A set of pipes 1, 4, 5 and 8, Fig. 1 (not shown), and pipe unions 2, 6 and 7 are characterized in that each pipe and pipe union has a number of orienting lines on its outside surface to facilitate welding them together in the correct relative positions. The lines may be continuous along the pipe or union or may be provided at the ends only. In the embodiment described, four continuous orienting lines 9 spaced 90 degrees apart are provided, although fewer or more may be provided. The pipes and unions are buttwelded together.
