Abstract

1,196,845. Piezoelectric elements. GENERAL ELECTRIC & ENGLISH ELECTRIC COMPANIES Ltd. 4 June, 1969 [4 June, 1968], No. 26452/68. Heading H1E. [Also in Division H3] A monolithic crystal filter is similar to that disclosed in Specification 1,195,929 except that the two electrodes forming each intermediate resonator are not connected by a variable capacitor but are connected by a short-circuit connection. Accordingly, the filter is manufactured by a method which consists in measuring the resonant frequency of each of the resonators and carefully building up the electrodes to the required thickness to obtain the desired frequency characteristic. Each electrode comprises a base of gold which is evaporated on to the quartz slab and gold or nickel is electrodeposited on to this base to obtain the required thickness.
