Abstract

1,196,142. Toys. LINCOLN INDUSTRIES Ltd. 10 April, 1968 [13 Jan., 1967], No. 2030/ 67. Heading A6S. A toy automobile has its driving mechanism adapted to cause a resilient sounding element to strike a panel such as a wall of a sounding box. The vehicle is driven by an electric motor 5 operating on the rear wheels 3 via the gears 6 and 7 and axle 4. The motor shaft, is extended towards the front of the car and carries a cam 8. A resilient metal arm 9 is pivoted on a screw 10 and exteels so that it just protrudes from the front of the car 11. The other end of the arm 12 bears against the cam 20 so that when the motor is running the arm is caused to oscillate and a protruberance 14 on the arm strikes a sounding box 13. By moving the extension 11, the arm may be pivoted about the screw 10, so that the end 12 no longer engages with the cam, thereby causing the vehicle to operate silently. The movement of .the extension may be effected by causing it to engage with a projection from a track on which the vehicle travels.
