Abstract
1,195,048. Conductors. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 15 Nov., 1968 [30 Aug., 1967], No. 39612/67. Heading H1A. [Also in Division B3] An electrical conductor comprises a core of aluminium covered by a layer of copper which occupies 5-25% of the combined cross-sectional area of these two metals and which is itself covered by a layer of lead-tin alloy, of composition by weight between 60% lead-40% tin and 80% lead-20% tin, which is between 0À0001 inch and 0À001 inch thick. The wire may be produced by drawing out a copper-coated aluminium rod and applying the lead-tin alloy by electro-deposition or immersion.
