Abstract

1,194,687. Jaw crushers. EISENWERK WESERHUTTE A.G. 3 Nov., 1967, No. 50025/67. Heading B2A. A crusher comprises a roller 3 mounted in bearings 2 for free rotation an an eccentrically offset portion of an eccentric shaft 1, the roller cooperating with jaws 5 which are biassed by pre-loader springs 11. The springs 11 are loaded by nuts 14 which bear against .springs 16. If there is sudden braking of the restoring masses, which include the springs 11 and spring carriers 10, e.g. due to tramp material or clogging, the springs 16 are compressed during the return stroke of the jaws 5 and absorb the kinetic energy of the spring carriers 10. Jaw spacing is adjusted by spacers 20. The jaws may be provided with teeth, adjacent a preliminary or upper crushing zone.
