Anemometers.-In meters in which fluid flow is measured by the effect of heat imparted to the fluid, an auxiliary heater is provided to supply heat to compensate for known losses. In the meter shown in Fig. 1, in which the supply of energy to the heater 5 is automatically varied to maintain a constant difference of temperature between electric resistances 6, an auxiliary heater 24 is supplied with a constant quantity of energy. The auxiliary heater comprises a resistance dieposed in a tube 24, Fig. 2, diametrically or circumferentially positioned in the casing 27 supporting the main heating resistances 28.
