Abstract

119,342. France, A. G. Nov. 28, 1917. Buttons.-In two-part buttons of the type in which the headed shank of one member is adapted to be engaged in the reduced portion of a slot in a second member, the slot S in the member a, Fig. 1, has the outline of two intersecting circles a<1>, a<4>, or, as shown in Fig. 5, of four intersecting circles, the head b<2> of the stud member, Fig. 3, being passed up through one of the enlarged portions a<2>, and the shank b engaged in the reduced central portion a'. The intermediate tongues a<5>, Fig. 5, are bent upwardly so that any pull on the stud member tends to reduce the size of the central aperture a<1>. The member a is given the form of a button, being provided with a rim a<4>, and in the form shown in Fig. 1, with apertures a<3>.
