Abstract

1,191,795. Hook fastenings; strap fastenings. RODI & WIENENBERGER A.G. 2 July, 1968 [13 Feb., 1968], No. 31541/68. Heading E2A. A clasp for holding together the free ends of a strap or band, comprises a slide buckle 21 having a body part 1 and a clamping plate 6 which is displaceable by a locking flap 10 to hold an inserted strap or band end 15 in the body part 1, and a hinged clip 19 attachable to the other end 17 of the strap or band, the buckle 21 and clip 19 having safety catch means 16, 18 for booking the buckle and clip together, the clip 19 being pivotable over the locking flap 10 and adapted to be snapped into interlocking engagement therewith when the buckle and clip are hooked together, the safety catch means being adapted to retain the buckle and clip hooked together when the clip is disengaged from the locking flap. As shown, the buckle is formed with side walls 2, 3 and connecting webs 4, 5 and the clamping plate 6 is formed with side walk 8, 9. The looking flap 10 includes a part 14 which is adapted to clamp the strap end 15 and the body part 1 when the flap 10 is pressed downwardly on to the end 15 which lies between the base 7 of the plate 6 and the webs 4, 5. In modifications, the safety catch means may comprise one or more hooks on the clip 19 which are engageable with webs or openings on the body 1, plate 6 or locking flap 2.
