Abstract

1,191,747. Fence insulators. H. MULLER. 21 Aug., 1967, No. 38496/67. Heading H2C. An insulator for an electric fence comprises an insulating cup 1, surrounding a dry chamber 2, and an integral support member 7a, having an integral wire retaining member 10a, formed with an aperture 8 and an oblique slot 9. A nail 6 or a screw in a bore 5 attaches the insulator to a post 4. In another embodiment (Figs. 3, 4, not shown), an annular wire loop (106) serves as the retaining member. The axes of the retaining member and support member may be inclined to each other. The support member may be completely within the insulating cup. In each case, the angle of the cup 1 and of the bore 5 relative to the port 4 is greater than 90 degrees, and is preferably 135 degrees.
