Abstract

1,191,700. Coated metal. EKCO PRODUCTS Inc. 19 July, 1967 [27 Feb., 1967], No. 33210/67. Heading B2K. A metal base member is coated with a layer of an organic polymeric release agent secured to the base member by means of a deposit of particles of stainless steel on the surface of the base member facing the release agent. The base member may be a sheet of aluminised steel, aluminium, stainless steel, cold rolled steel, aluminium clad steel or stainless steel clad cold rolled steel. The release agent may be a fluorocarbon polymer, e.g. polytetrafluoroethylene, or silicone resins. The base member may be subjected to sand blasting, shot peening, acid or alkaline etching, electrolytic etching or abrasive brushing and molten droplets or stainless steel deposited thereon by spraying, e.g. flame or electric arc spraying. A primer may then be applied followed by application of, an aqueous suspension of the release agent by spraying and finally baking. The metal member may be formed before or after applying the coating.
