Abstract

1519724 Autodeposited coatings on metal surfaces AMCHEM PRODUCTS INC 31 Aug 1976 [29 Aug 1975] 36027/76 Heading B2E An autodeposited organic coating is formed on a metal surface, e.g. steel, Al or Zn by immersion in an acidic organic aqueous dispersion capable of dissolving destabilising metal ions from the surface. The coated surface is optionally contacted with one or more rinses before fusing and drying the coating and is subjected to a relative humidity of at least 65% until fusion takes place. Many suitable coating materials and rinses are specified.
