1,190,677. Production of alloys. RAND MINES Ltd. May 8, 1968 [May 9, 1967], No. 21844/68. Addition to 1,004,443. Heading C7D. Extra low carbon stainless steel is manufactured as defined in the parent Specification 1,004,443, but with the modification that the ferrosilicon reducing agent is in a molten state when poured into a ladle simultaneously with the superheated liquid iron ore slag. Over-violent reaction is avoided by control of the slag and reductant temperatures.
