Sighting clinometers. - The dial d, Figs. 1 and 2, carrying the sighting vanes is provided with a toothed sector n engaging a pinion o operable by a milled head p. The spindle q upon which the pinion is mounted is carried by the plates r, s, which support the weight g. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the dial, instead of being mounted directly on the spindle c, is carried on a boss t formed integral with the pointer f.
