Abstract
1,189,506. Welding by pressure. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS Inc. 11 July, 1967 [11 July, 1966], No. 31906/67. Heading B3R. [Also in Division H1] An electrode structure for a cathode-ray tube comprises two axially apertured cup-like members 26, 30 fitting one within another and accurately located with respect to each other by spacers 51 which also provide welding points. The spacers may take the form (as shown), of protuberances on the inside of the outer member or of short projections (85, Fig. 3, not shown), on the rim of the inner member. A jig for assembly comprises a pair of welding electrodes 63, 75 which are used to locate and press together the two members.
