Abstract

1,189,471. Feeding sheets and associating sheets and webs. NOVELART MFG. CO. 9 May, 1967 [9 May, 1966], No. 21591/67. Heading B8R. [Also in Division B5] In a machine for attaching sheets 20, Fig. 2, to one face of a single-faced corrugated web 21 between combining rolls 80, 94, Fig. 6, the sheets are fed to the rolls at the same speed as the web. The sheets 20, Fig. 2, are fed one at a time from a stack 38 by a feeder 39 on to a delivery table over which they are advanced by driven tapes 132 and 154. The sheets are guided during their passage over the delivery table by adjustable side guides against which they are held by pressure rolls. At the end of the delivery table advance of each sheet is prevented by a stop 178, Fig. 6. Idler rolls 152 carrying the tapes 132 are mounted on a driven shaft 153 carrying knurled rolls which are driven such that their peripheral speed is the same as that of the web. At preselected times the stop 178 is lowered, and pressure rolls 180 are moved towards the driven rolls on shaft 153 to cause a sheet to be advanced by these rolls towards the combining rolls 80, 94.
