Abstract

118,936. Walter, S. Nov. 8, 1917. Baling-presses.-Relates to baling-presses for waste paper of the kind in which pressure is effected by a screw acting on a platen sliding in a bin or chamber which widens from back to front. The pressing-screw 1 is carried by a frame comprising a cross-bar 3, in which the screw turns, and side arms 4 which are pivoted at 5 to the bin so that the cross-bar may be moved clear of the top opening of the bin when charging the bin with waste paper. A block may be placed between the screw end and the platen when the latter is low down in the bin. The hinged discharging door is shown at 9.
