Abstract

1,189,348. Endless conveyers. ARTHUR G. MoKEE & CO. 21 July, 1967 [19 Aug., 1966], No. 33656/67. Heading B8A. [Also in Division F4] Iron ore pellets formed in drums 4a, 4b, are conveyed at 6a, 6b to a conveyer belt 8 which passes around a tripper carriage 16 so as to deposit the balls in an even layer across a roller conveyer 12. The latter feeds the layer on to a circular travelling grate 1. The carriage 16 is reciprocated by the action of a double acting hydraulic cylinder 18 on the main machine frame co-operating with a piston-rod 19 connected resiliently at its opposite end with the frame of the carriage 16. The cylinder 18 is energized by a pump 3, the output of which is varied by a lever 43 acting at 44 on a cam 45 carried by the carriage 16. The speed of the belt 8 may also be varied and it is tensioned by a counterweight 37. The belt 8 may discharge directly on to the grate 1 instead of via the conveyer 12.
