Abstract

1,187,380. Polypropylene and polyamide compositions. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODAFABRIK A.G. 4 Aug., 1967 [6 Aug., 1966], No. 35935/67. Headings C3P and C3R. Moulding materials comprise 100 parts by weight of polypropylene, 0À5 to 40 parts by weight of a polyamide, and 0À1 to 20 weight per cent, based on the composition, of a metal fluoride. Specified polyamides are those derived from caprolactam, hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid or sebacic acid, and from hexamethylenediamine, adipic acid and caprolactam. Specified fluorides are zinc, cadmium, tin II, lead II, titanium II, chromium III, manganese IV, copper II, silver I, thorium III, uranium III, cobalt II, lithium, aluminium and magnesium fluorides, and double salts such as double metal fluorides and silicofluorides. The compositions may also contain dyes, stabilizers and lubricants, and may be made into films, sheets and sealing members. In examples, polyamides used are derived from caprolactam; hexamethylene diamine and adipic or sebacic acid; hexamethylene diamine, adipic acid and caprolactam; and decamethylene dicarboxylic acid and tetramethylene diamine or hexamethylene diamine.
