Abstract

1,185,690. Controlling pollution of liquid surfaces. 1. W. M. ROSS. 7 June, 1968 [26 June, 1967], No. 29405/67. Heading C1C. Pollution of a liquid surface is controlled by spraying the surface with a material suitable to dispose of the pollution and agitating the liquid surface violently. In a preferred embodiment the depolluting agent is sprayed from nozzles located between the two hulls of a catamaran at the front, and agitation of the surface is performed by fluid jets between the two hulls of the catamaran at the rear, the fluid being liquid drawn from below the polluted surface by means of a pump on the catamaran.
