In a brake pad and brake pad carrier combination the carrier is formed by a substantially continuous resilient wire I shaped to conform with the circumference of the brake pad 2 except where it is bent away from the brake pad to provide suspension eyelets 3 for use in mounting the combination in a disc brake assembly so that the brake pad 2 is clamped in the resilient wire 1. The wire 1 may be of circular cross-section and two different end shapes 1 and 5 are shown.
