A piezoelectric ceramic consists of, in mol. per cent, 44-50 of PbTiO3, 0À5-6À0 of a compound Pb(MeNb)0.5 O3, Me being In, Y, La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb or Lu (and optionally 0À01-1À0% by weight of MnO2) and the remainder FbZrO3.
