1,184,668. Electromechanical filters. HORSTMANN CLIFFORD MAGNETICS Ltd. 11 Sept., 1968 [18 Sept., 1967], No. 42320/67. Heading H3U. [Also in Divisions G3 and H2] An electromechanical oscillator which may be used in a filter comprises a pair of flexible primary reeds 11, 12 each supported at one end 13, 19, each reed having longitudinal slots 15, 16; 21, 22 and transverse slots 14, 20 to define secondary reeds 18, 24. The ends 13, 19 are clamped between a brass block 25 and two synthetic plastics end blocks 26, 27. Magnets 30, 31 are attached to the free ends of the reeds 18, 24 and co-operate with coils mounted in bores 32, 33 in the end blocks. In a modification, the secondary reeds are formed in the arms of a U-shaped nickel-iron alloy strip, the centre of which is clamped.
