Abstract

1,221,853. Magnetic heads. NORTRONICS CO. Inc. 8 April, 1968, No. 16879/68. Heading G5R. A magnetic transducer comprises a plurality of body sections containing respective core pieces having flat tip faces arranged to be held together by first and second U-shaped spring clamps. As shown, two body sections 11, 12 containing core halves 14a, 15a and 14b, 15b are clamped together by springs 20 located by shoulders 40-43. The sections 11, 12 may be aligned and secured by adhesive then the assembly potted in a screening can. A terminal board 35 is located and held by lugs 34. In the case of three or more body sections, the Specification states that the adjacent flat tip faces may each define magnetic flux gaps.
