Abstract

882,042. Magnetic recording &c. heads. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 31, 1960 [Sept. 3, 1959], No. 30036/60. Class 40 (2). A magnetic head structure, particularly for the double erasing head in " 4-track " tape recorders, incorporates a moulded resin member, Fig. 2, which comprises a cruciform portion forming the gap spacers 3 and the inter-head spacers 2 to which are assembled two pairs of ferrite cores 9, one of each pair carrying a winding 10. Staggered blade portions 5 and a handle 8 support the assembly in a mould for encapsulation. The outer surface of the head may be ground and the finished head mounted to the recorder with reference to the recess in the handle 8, or the handle portion may be removed.
