Abstract
118,453. Parker, L. S. Aug. 29, 1917 Bicycles. - A frame for motorcycles &c. comprises compression members 2 connecting the top of the steering-head 3 to the rear-fork lugs 4 and forming the topmost members of the frame, upper tension members 5, 6 forming with the members 2 a triangular girder and connecting the bottom bracket or some analogous part with the top of the steering-head and the fork lugs 4, one or a pair of front lower tension members 9 connected to the lower end of the steering-head and making with the members 2 an angle greater than that made with these members by the upper tension members 5, and a saddle stay 12 which is either rigidly connected transversely to the members 2, or flexibly stayed to a point of the frame near the top of the head as described in Specification 118,441 Lower tension members 11 may be provided between the lugs 4 and the engine casing or other point below the bottom bracket. The members 5, 9 may be single bars or pairs of parallel bars.
