Abstract

1,184,487. Sheet forming. BEBO-PLASTIK G.m.b.H. 17 Nov., 1967 [25 Nov., 1966], No. 52347/67. Heading B5A. False-bottomed containers are made by initially drawing a heat softened sheet into a female vacuum mould 1 having a movable base section 2, the sheet being applied against the base of the mould cavity by a collared plug 3. Both the plug and the movable base section are then raised to the position shown in the figure to form the false bottom, the base section being raised at twice the speed of the plug. In one embodiment the base section is initially flush with the base of the mould cavity whilst in another embodiment it is initially upraised to pre-form a small rim prior to subsequent formation to the desired height by movement of the plug and base section.
