Abstract

1,184,115. Polyalkenes. STANDARD OIL CO. 24 April, 1967 [26 April. 1966], No. 18784/67. Heading C3P. The melt index of a high molecular weight polyalkene is raised by contacting in finely divided particulate form with hydrogen at a temperature of 200 to 500‹ C. The polymer may be a polymer or copolymer of ethylene, propylene or butylene. Examples describe the treatment of polyethylenes and ethylene/ propylene copolymers.
