[Also in Division F1] A device for circulating and aerating the water in an aquarium, comprises a centrifugal pump 6 which draws the water up through a filter pot 12 and discharges it back to the aquarium. The water flow entrains a quantity of air through a tube 15 which is connected to a pipe 16 open to atmosphere at its free end and containing a control valve 17. A venturi effect is established by restricting the water flow passage by the end of the tube 15 as shown. Alternatively or additionally, air may be entrained into the pump discharge flow. The filter pot contains a bed of gravel, wood charcoal and polyamide wool.
