Abstract

1,183,711. Shop fronts. EUSTACE & PARTNERS Ltd. 27 April, 1967 [27 Jan., 1966], No. 3667/66. Heading E1R. A unit shop front comprises a main frame of fibre glass, aluminium, wood or plastics material, having a preferably vertical rail 3 or stile of U-shaped cross-section the mouth of which faces outwardly so that the arms of the U can engage between them a fixing piece 4, secured to the pillasters 2 and shown as of U-cross-section having a raised base 4 defining two channels 7 and having a threaded insert 5, e.g. of steel, on the raised base portion, and the element 3 of the frame being provided with adjuster blocks 9 forming by recesses in each, a T-shaped slot to receive an adjuster screw 10, whose head 11 is held captive but is accessible to a screw driver through a hole in the base 3 of the element. The element 4 may be a simple U-section, two standard wedges being inserted one from each end of the rail and which extend the whole length thereof abutting each other along their hypothenuse faces which are ridged and have a longitudinal slot parallel to the longitudinal axes of the wedges through a bolt may be inserted for fixing the frame and fixing piece together as an alternative to fixing by glue.
