Abstract

1427213 Structural joints PERRY BROS (HALL GREEN) Ltd 12 March 1974 [23 Aug 1973] 40002/73 Heading F2M A joint for a frame, e.g. a door frame, comprises elongate frame members 10, 11 at least one of which is of hollow section and has on one longitudinal edge a re-entrant formation providing a groove and on either side of the groove internal channels in which are seated the ends of a U-section clamp plate 12, one or more screws 23 being passed through holes in the clamp plate and engaged in internally ribbed sockets in end of the other frame member, so that the longitudinal edge and end of the respective frame members are urged into abutment without any tendency to distort the groove formation. Holes 26 are provided in member 10 for access to the screws 23. Alternatively, the base of the groove formation may be locally slotted (Fig. 1, not shown).
