Abstract

1,182,261. Branch connections. E. PASS & CO. Ltd. 27 Feb., 1967 [6 Jan., 1966], No. 641/66. Heading F2G. A device for connecting a service pipe A to a main pipe M comprises a tailpiece 10 screwed into the pipe M, a tubular T-piece 11, and a plug 12 which is screw-threaded at each end thereof and is adapted to be screwed either into the member 10 or the T-piece, as shown, so that communication is established between the bore of the member 10 and the pipe A. The plug has sealing surfaces 25, 26 intermediate the screw-threaded portions 12a, 12b thereof. The plug has formations 27 adapted to be engaged by a key to effect rotary and axial movements of the plug, and the screwed ferrule 16 of the tailpiece 10 passes through a saddle 17 and sealing member 18.
