Abstract

1,181,902. Printing machines. ADAMOVSKE STROJIRNY, NARONDI PODNIK. 29 March, 1967 [30 March, 1966], No. 14269/67. Heading B6C. [Also in Division B8] A rotary sheet-fed printing machine includes mechanism which automatically trips an inking unit 2 and the plate cylinder 3 in the event of faulty sheet feed. A rod 13 reciprocates vertically once for each revolution of the impression cylinder 4 through a cam 16 acting on a follower 15 and lever 14, the rod 13 acting to operate gripper fingers 6 on a feed gripper 5. Under normal operation, a second cam 37 rotating with the cam 16 causes a rod 34 to reciprocate idly. When a faulty sheet feed is detected an electromagnet 17 is energized, thereby moving a rod 32 to the left so that a profiled end 43 of the rod 34 engages a roller 45 on a link 46, pivoting the link about a point 81 and tripping both the inking unit 2, through rods 58, 59 and 62, and the plate cylinder 3, through rod 49, lever 50, an adjustable connection to a rod 55, rod 56 and an eccentric 83. The machine is returned to normal by energizing an electromagnet 21 which acts through rod 32 to swing the rod 34 to the right so that the profiled end 43 engages a roller 44 and the link 46 is pivoted back to its normal position. The inking unit can be manually tripped by pivoting a lever 65 which acts through an eccentric 63 to lift the rod 62 and hence the inking unit 2.
