1,181,395. Vehicle headlamps. CHIEH-HSI TANG. 15 March, 1967, No. 12090/67. Heading F4R. An anti-dazzle headlamp system in a road vehicle comprises a polarizing filter in the or each headlamp and a further polarizing filter disposed in front of the drivers eyes and adapted to pass light polarized in a plane perpendicular to the plane of polarization of the light emitted by the headlamps, the further filter being movable between an in-use and an out-of-use position and movement of the filter controlling a switch which brings additional headlamp illumination into operation when the filter is in the in-use position. The additional illumination issues from a second set of filaments in the same lamps.
