Abstract
1,181,299. Mounting electric traction motors. VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELSKY I PROEKTNOKONSTRUKTORSKY INSTITUT ELEKTROVOZOSTROENIA. 8 Aug., 1967, No. 36282/67. Heading B7H. In an assembly mounting an electric traction motor 1 on a wheel pair 9 by means of antifriction bearings, the inner races 5 of the bearings being mounted on a component transferring torque to the wheel pair, the bearings are partly housed in the casing of the motor to which they are secured by clamps 14 and load distributing rings 15, engaging the outer races 18, stops 16 being provided to limit movement of the rings 15 and the outer race of one of the bearings in a direction parallel to the wheel axis. The inner races are each located by a shoulder 7 of the axle 6 and by the hub of a wheel or reduction gear with the interposition of a ring 11 of lower yield point than the adjacent components. A reduction gear casing 20 may be provided at one or each end of the axle and the inner races 5 may be mounted on the axle 6 or on a sleeve (Fig. 7, not shown) surrounding the axle.
