Abstract
1,180,036. Washing granular materials. FREDERICK PARKER Ltd. 4 Nov., 1968 [3 Aug., 1967], No. 35716/67. Addition to 1,097,416. Heading B2H. The plant for washing undesirable matter such as clay or silt and/or sand from stone according to Patent No.1,097,416 is modified by providing means for supplying water to the first drum 1 so that a flow of water is provided through the drum in the opposite direction to that in which the material flows the drum 1 being provided with screens 7 at the inlet 5 for separating some of the water and undesirable matter from the stone. As shown the second drum 2 is connected to the drum 1 by a short cylinder 4 and screens 9 are provided for the escape of water. The flow of water into the drums is controlled by valves 11, 14 and a small quantity of water flows in the same direction as the material in the drum 1 and out of the screens 9.
