Abstract

118,000. Price, C. F. Sept. 19, 1917. Crucible furnaces.-A portable crucible furnace is constructed with an outer metal casing adapted to be supported by the grate-bar frame or support d. The feet of the outer casing have projections a<3> for supporting the inner fire-brick casing or lining, such projections being mitred to allow the plates to fit together, and being formed, with inclined under surfaces to allow circulation of air. Projections a<6> on the casing at a higher level support the upper part of the lining, and outer projections a<7> support the fire-brick connexion with the chimney flue. The lower part a<4> of the front plate of the casing is separate and removable to allow access to the interior.
