An abrasion-resistant Mo-free steel consists, by weight, of:- C 0À25-0À4% Si 1À3-3% Mn 0.5-2.5% Ni 0À75-2À25% Cr 0À3-1À5% Fe (apart from impurities and incidental elements) - balance. Incidental elements are B up to 0.01% and V up to 0À03%. The steel may be austenitized, quenched, and tempered at least once. It may be used to form dipper teeth for power shovels, crusher parts, and slusher or scraper blades for oremoving equipment.
