Chucks. - In a chuck in which an annular conical member j is moved laterally to operate the jaws i of an internal split member h having no lateral movement, the member j is moved in a direction away from the working tool to close the jaws, and has a cylindrical portion which slides on a sleeve e surrounding and supporting the jaw member h. The member j is preferably moved laterally by a central draw-screw n, acting through a disk m coupled to the flange k on the member j by bolts l. The chuck is intended for holding articles for thread milling or equivalent processes. Turning.-The drawing shows a form of spindle mounting.
