P o r t a b l e turning- apparatus.-A tool for facing valve seats comprises a handled seating-tool spindle A free to rotate in a handled screw sleeve B movable to adjust the pressure of the tool, the said sleeve B being carried by an internally and externallv screwed sleeve C having a spider F at its lower end. Within the spider are mounted radially movable jaws M, which are caused to grip the valve box aperture by the downward movement of cam-pieces G under the influence of a nut J engaging the ends L of the cam-pieces.
