Abstract

1,176,404. Spray-producers. R. H. ABPLANALP. 14 Aug., 1967 [10 Oct., 1966], No. 37207/67. Heading B2F. A disperser for material contained in a hermetically sealed product container (not shown) comprises a sealed propellant container 10 containing liquefied chlorinated fluorinated hydrocarbon propellant and bearing a valve assembly 12, a product flow tube 16 connected to a passage 25 in the valve assembly and to a hollow needle-like member 34 adapted to pierce the product container. The valve assembly includes an annular gasket 20 which closes communication between propellant flow passages 21 and 27 until an actuator head 40 is depressed, the propellant then flowing through passages 41, 42 and entraining product from the passage 25. The needle-like member 34 may be push-fitted or screwed onto a nipple 29. at the bottom of the propellant container 10. The product container is formed with a puncturable seal, e.g. having a thin metal, rubber or plastics diaphragm, or a diaphragm with a self-closing slit, or a resilient flap valve in the form of a flattened tube depending into the product container.
