1,175,764. Developing apparatus for the silver salt diffusion transfer process. W. ZINDLER [trading as LUMOPRINT ZINDLER K.G.]. May 17, 1967 [May 18, 1966], No.22850/67. Heading G2A. A developing apparatus for use in the silver salt diffusion transfer process comprises an outer tank 1 containing developing liquid through which the exposed negative material is passed, an inner tank 11 containing a different liquid and means for guiding the receiving material into surface contact with a roller 15 dipping into said liquid so as to wet the surface of said receiving material, a pair of squeeze and transport rollers 30 and 31 for squeezing together the wetted surfaces of the negative material and receiving material, and an additional squeezing out mechanism (e.g. rollers 34 and 35) arranged in the track for the receiving material between the surface wetting roller therefor and the common pair of transport and squeeze rollers. The surface wetting roller may be associated with a contact pressure roller or rollers or an endless belt.
