Abstract

1,175,678. Endless conveyers. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 10 March, 1967 [18 March, 1966], No. 12023/66; Heading B8A. [Also in Division E1] In mining apparatus, in which the mine face F1, F2 extends on each side of the roadway R, the face conveyer is formed of two aligned parts 2, 3 each discharging on to an endless scraper chain conveyer 1 situated in the roadway R and their respective frameworks are extended over the roadway to form a continuous guideway for a mining machine 14 to traverse from one part to the other part of the face conveyer. The face conveyers are driven from a common source 10 driving end sprockets (6), (7), Fig. 2 (not shown), which sprockets are spaced apart to form a discharge opening 9 and are situated below the conveying run of the face conveyers in a dent D formed by a cutting machine 17 situated at the forward end of the conveyer 1.
